Metamorphically speaking, of course.
The good news is that I have been making progress in my game of Latin. Sure, Latin may not be war, but it is like a war in that it is a game of inches and there is no easy way out of the (linguistic) bloodshed. You gotta fight and no amount of pleading will change that.
I have been fighting, then (valiantly, in my opinion). As of now, I have a “B-” as a grade.
Yeah, that is not the best grade in the world but it far from the worst as well. And, honestly, my grade would be higher if some issues with the weekly quizzes turned out differently. Yesterday, for example, I took my weekly quiz and found out that had I not accidentally misspelled a word, I would have earned close to an “A” on that quiz.
Needless to say, then, I feel I am doing well. Sure, it still takes me a while to do homework because I do not have words and case endings as memorized as I should. Honestly, though, sue me– I have three other classes this term and I need to focus at least some time on those classes, so maybe Latin studying is suffering a little bit, but it is for a good cause.
Am I weary of the future? Sure am but I am not terrified so I will take that as a victory.
As I remarked, Latin is a game of inches and as long as an inch avoids blasting my head into minute pieces, I will survive.
