Literary Event #7

You are not an advanced student, by any means, but you know enough to know that the architecture of this place unnerves you. At any given time, it seems like it is a palimpsest of several periods; so quickly the periods change in a shimmering mirage, that you are always caught off-guard. This simulation seems almost like a dream, like you are everywhere at once.

[Historical Research: conduct some basic historical research. In Langland’s poem, the closest we get to a description of the locales that the protagonist visits is on line 107 when the word “court” is mentioned. What kind of place do you think this “court” is like and how do you feel it differs from a great hall? Record your research in your journal and below.]
